Why a Studio Newborn Session?

The window of time for those curly, sleepy, adorable posed newborn photos is so small* and that time is so precious! And it goes by SO fast! Allow me to freeze this special moment in time, this perfect window where baby will curl up sweetly in a basket or a little bed, sleeping peacefully. I'll capture tiny toes, little fingers, that perfect profile. These portraits are timeless!

Custom portraits using my extensive collection of items - or yours!

I fully customize each studio newborn session. I offer a selection of outfits, hats or headbands, wraps, and props to make these images as special as they can be. (See bottom section of photos for examples from my collection!) Or, if you have an item close to your heart, such as a blanket grandma made, a book you received as a gift, or a little teddy bear from your own childhood, bring it! I absolutely love to personalize your session with a special item from home.

Siblings and parents, too!

Of course, studio newborn sessions don't have to only include baby! With a Full or All Inclusive session, siblings and parents are welcome and encouraged.

A gallery of beautifully hand-retouched images!

After your session, I will professionally hand-retouch each image to clear up things like baby acne, jaundice, or redness. I can smooth flaky skin if you like, or I can leave it as evidence of how very brand-new baby is! (I personally love flaky little hands and feet, but if you prefer a more "polished" look, I can smooth it out.) I can also do a little magic with an uncooperative big sibling to achieve that photo you didn't think was possible!

Enjoy a relaxing experience!

Come to my studio, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, a snack, and relax! No need to worry about getting your home photo-ready around a newborn's schedule. Leave it all at home and let me take care of your family! I want the entire experience to be fun, stress-free, and enjoyable. You'll have beautiful, timeless images to pass down from generation to generation!

Safety first! Always!

And maybe most importantly, I have extensive education in newborn safety and safe posing practices from in-person training, hands-on workshops, online continuing education, and have attended newborn photography conferences to learn from leaders in the field. I've been photographing newborns as my main focus since 2017.

* Typically, posed newborn sessions are best done within the first two weeks of baby's life, but if you've missed that window, don't worry! The poses and session might look a little different, but I can still capture this precious time for an older newborn!
